Recently, the Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, commissioned the construction of a signature flyover with pomp and celebration, amongst other efforts to keep good governance going in the state, writes Yinka Kolawole Osun State especially, its capital, Osogbo was suddenly in the news, when Governor Adegboyega Oyetola announced the readiness of his administration to construct an iconic flyover across the popular Fakunle-Olaiya, Odiolowo-Olaiya, AKindeko-Olaiya and MDS Olaiya interactions – all in Osogbo, the state capital. Many questions were asked and still being asked by residents and non-residents alike about the wisdom or otherwise of having a flyover in the place. A flyover is a road constructively created with an elevation at a given junction or intersection. It could be with or without any subsidiary principally aimed at controlling traffic conflicts at any given road intersection.

I didn’t collect salary for 8 years as governor, says Aregbesola

The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola at the weekend dismissed reports that he received 96- month salary arrears in secret when he served as the governor of Osun state. He described the report as a fiction written by elements bent on casting “aspersion on the integrity of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola” A statement from Aregbesola’s media aide, Sola Fasure, noted that the report carried by an online medium falls short of all known ethics of journalism. According to the statement, the author of the report “falsely claims that the Minister of Interior and immediate past governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, towards the end of his tenure, secretly received the backlog of his full salary for the entire period he was governor, contrary to his asserting that he never did.

Court restrains Debt Management Office from paying Vine Oil N628m By hixco-net.com A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, Friday, granted a Mareva Order restraining the Debt Management Office, DMO,  from paying Vine Oil & Gas Ltd and a businessman, Ben Chukwujama,  N628million standing to the credit at a bank. Trial judge, Justice Saliu Saidu made the order following an application by D. Awosika, SAN, for the Bank. Vine Oil & Gas, Chukwujama, and DMO are the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd defendants/respondents in the suit. Awosika had told the judge that the bank has a pending action to recover N3,550.933.501 which liability arose from the grant of several trading facilities and funding of letters of credit for the importation of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and other Petroleum Support Trust fund (PSP) Scheme, which  Vine Oil & Gas had failed to liquidate despite several demand notices.
