Photo: Instagram Established by Hip Hop World Magazine in 2006, the Headies are Nigeria’s top music awards honouring outstanding feats at home and across Africa.  This year’s awards will reward works released between January 2022 and March 2023. Among the most nominated acts at the upcoming ceremony are Burna Boy with 10, Asake with nine and Pheelz and Bnxn with six each. A former Kaduna State Senator and human rights activist, Shehu Sani,has warned Nigerians against collecting the N8,000 palliative from President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Tinubu recently got approval for the N500 billion he sought from the National Assembly as palliative for 12 million households worst affected by the removal of fuel subsidy.  According to a letter to the House of Representatives, the president said 12 million families would get N8,000 over a period of six months to ameliorate the hardships faced as a result of the subsidy removal. ALSO READ: Sowore rubbishes Tinubu’s subsidy palliative scheme  Reacting to the development, Shehu Sani urged Nigerians to pray hard before collecting the N8,000 proposed by the Tinubu-led administration.

Nigerians have started condemning the move of President Bola Tinubu to transfer N8000 to the bank account of 12 million households for six months. In his proposal, the president promised that N8,000 would be transferred to the bank account of 12 million low-income and poor households for six months to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal. THE Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, has warned factional leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Simon Ekpa, to stop plans to stage in Lagos State, the sit-at-home protest currently being en- forced in the South East to press the Federal Government for the release of the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, from detention. Aare Onakakanfo Adams cautioned IPOB against con- templating such a move or at- tempt to impose IPOB agenda on Lagos or any other part of the South West because the region is not Biafra Republic. Reports had quoted Ekpa as hinting in a tweet on Wednesday of plans by IPOB to repli- cate the sit-at-home in Lagos.
