The 36-year-old man, who has not been named, sparked widespread anger in the northern Brazilian municipality of Olhos D’Agua after he allegedly tried to rape his 20-year-old relative. His niece, who remains anonymous, managed to fight off his advances and fled before her attacker then drunkenly staggered home and fell asleep.

It would be recalled that several Tiv communities in Nasarawa have come under numerous attacks by suspected Fulani herders, especially last Saturday where women and children were massacred by gunmen in Doma and other settlements in the state. The cry is coming even as the community leaders have also appealed for the deployment of security operatives to the troubled areas of Keana and Doma LGAs where over 50,000 farmers have been displaced by suspected herdsmen.

While Okoro was intercepted with 900grammes of cocaine in a commercial bus along Abuja-Gwagwalada road on Monday 26th April, 2021 based on intelligence, Bello was nabbed with 200grammes of the illicit drug in Zuba area of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, same-day through a controlled delivery operation. According to the Commander, FCT Command of the Agency, Mohammed Malami Sokoto, Okoro was an intending traveller to Libya through Kano and Agadez in Niger Republic, with wraps of cocaine weighing 900 grammes while the other seizure of 200 grammes was equally made following intelligence on the 26th April, 2021.
