The House of Representatives' Special Committee on Constitution Review has received a proposal to change Nigeria's name to the United African Republic. Adeleye Jokotoye , a tax consultant, submitted the proposal to the committee at the South West Zonal Public Hearing in Lagos on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. While presenting the proposal, he said Nigeria's current name was an imposition of its past colonial masters and should be changed.

Falz who wastes no time to air his thoughts about issues in the country chanced upon the warning tweet issued by Buhari to the many young people misbehaving in the country. Twitter has deleted a tweet made by President Muhammadu Buhari threatening to deal with ‘people’ who didn’t learn from the Civil War. Gunmen suspected to be assassins, on Tuesday, killed the Peoples Democratic Party youth leader in the Oru-East Local Government Area of Imo State, Kenneth Amukamara. The hoodlums also burnt Kenneth’s house and damaged the vehicles of his brother, who is said to be a retired soldier. The incident, which happened at Umuokwe, Eziawo 1, in the local government area, heightened tension in the area. A journalist, Don Uba, who spoke on the killing of the youth leader, said residents of the area were in panic. The convener of the #RevolutionNowMovement, Omoyele Sowore, has narrated how he was shot by a policeman during a rally in Abuja on Monday. While speaking after being discharged from the hospital on Tuesday, Sowore said claims made by the police that no one was shot at the rally were false. The Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory had claimed that Sowore was not shot.
