A mentally unstable woman has been burnt alive by an angry mob in Lagos. Scooper News gathered that the mad woman was attacked and burnt alive after she was caught with three AK-47 rifles stashed in a sack bag. Scooper News learnt that the tragic incident happened at Abule-Ado, Trade fair area of Badagry, Lagos State. According to sketchy reports by an eyewitness that made a video of the incident, the mad woman allegedly keeps the rifles for suspected armed robbers. The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has confirmed that its leader, Nnamdi Kanu has engaged a new lobbying firm in the United States. IPOB’s National Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful disclosed that Kanu hired the US lobbyist with over N300m. Powerful explained that the move is aimed at actualizing the Sovereign State of Biafra. In a terse statement he issued on Tuesday, Powerful wrote: “Yes, it’s true we hired another lobbying group in USA to facilitate the coming and recognition of Biafra independence, we engaged them with the wholesome amount of 300m naira about 750 dollars to lobby for Biafra freedom in America and the whole world.” Reports had said the IPOB leader engaged the new American lobbying firm to help win the support of the US government. Residents of Orji community in Owerri North LG of Imo State ran for their lives on Tuesday afternoon, May 25, after unknown gunmen stormed the streets, shooting sporadically into the air. The gunmen who came in their numbers, walked freely on the streets as they fired gunshots into the air. Imo state has witnessed several attacks by these unknown gunmen in recent times.

The bill on the discontinuation of the National Youth Service Corps has reached the second reading in the House of Representatives. Sponsored by the lawmaker representing Andoni-Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency of Rivers State Awaji-Inombek Abiante, in the explanatory memorandum of the proposal, the bill listed various reasons why the NYSC should be scrapped. It said the NYSC has led to the “incessant killing of innocent corps members in some parts of the country due to banditry, religious extremism and ethnic violence; incessant kidnapping of innocent corps members across the country.”

A suicide bomber was on Tuesday blown to pieces when a suicide vest he was wearing exploded on his body. The incident happened in Afikpo town, Afikpo local government area of Ebonyi state. A source in the area said the incident happened around 12noon. “He made an attempt at entering Amaizu/ Amangballa Primary School but was turned back by the school security since he couldn’t justify his reason for visiting. He immediately started running inside a nearby bush before a big bang was heard,” the source said. The source also said residents scampered for safety when the bomb exploded but reconvened at the scene of the incident few minutes after only to discover the suspected suicide bomber laying dead in the pull of his own blood. The resident who noted that the incident happened close to the Eke Market Afikpo which is said to be the biggest market in the area hinted that there is tension and panic in the community.
