President Muhammadu Buhari An emergency national security meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari is currently ongoing at the State House, Abuja. The meeting, which started at 10 am, is taking place at the Conference Hall of the Office of the First Lady, and is being attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari; Boss Mustapha; Ministers of Defence, Major-General Bashir Magashi (retd), Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyema and the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (retd.)

The Ooni of Ile- Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has finally reacted to the killing of some Yoruba people from Igangan, Ibarapa by alleged Fulani Herdsmen by saying Yoruba are not fools and show not be taken for granted. The monarch decried the cold murder of some Yoruba people from Igangan as worrisome and some things that should not have happened anywhere in the world. And in a statement, signed on Monday by his media aide, Moses Olafare, the Ooni condemned the increasing insecurity in the country. He stated that the Yoruba people are law- abiding, and disciplined individuals and not should be taken as fools.   And in the king' s word, he said that " Attacks like this where casualties can visibly trace its perpetrators as from one part of the country can lead to the breakdown of the court perpetrators of these gruesome killings must be fished out of their hiding place and thought a lesson. The King also urged the government to quickly tackle the issue of insecurity by saying that

Popular Yoruba activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly called Sunday Igboho on Monday visited Igangan in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo state, a day after the town was attacked by Fulani herdsmen. Igboho was in the town to access the level of damage in yesterday’s attack. During the visit, Igboho also tried to comb the forest in search of the herdsmen. He was, however, prevented from entering the forest by a team of fully armed soldiers, who were trailing his convoy immediately they arrived the town. Our correspondent who is on ground sighted about 8 trucks of the Nigerian Army behind Igboho’s convoy.

Igboho attempted to scour the forests with his troops for the murder herdsmen, but was stopped by Nigerian army operatives. Chief Sunday Adeyemo, alias Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba Nation agitator, attacked Igangan in Oyo state' s Ibarapa North LGA on Monday evening. His visit was in response to weekend attacks in the community by suspected herders, according to his spokeswoman, Olayomi Koiki. Gunmen stormed the town on Saturday, killing ten people and setting fire to a number of buildings, including the traditional ruler' s palace. In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, Igboho arrived in town in a convoy on Monday, to the delight of many residents.
