Director, of FCT Public Health Department, Sadiq Abdulrahman, who made the declaration, yesterday, in Abuja said information available to the department indicated that the disease was imported from neighbouring Niger State Abdulrahman said the outbreak of the disease in the nation’s capital was confirmed after one result from the samples taken from suspected cases in a village close to the Dei-Dei area, returned positive. He tasked residents to take personal hygiene seriously and advised them to report any strange symptoms, particularly, one relating to their respiratory health to relevant authorities. “Two weeks ago, we got information from a community within the FCT of eight cases and that made our team pick some samples,” he said.
