Our world today is filled with blessed people, and we have people who are well and highly talented but they don' t have enough resources to put their works out for people to see, we have seen and heard of different people who out of nothing made something tangible. These youths of today have turned out to be very brilliant, innovative and creative, they now create different electrical automobiles and other sorts of mechanics.   Here is a Nigerian man who goes by the name Umar Usman Dagona. Umar Dagona is from Gashua town of Bade local government, Yobe State, he has kept a record in this country as be has made a cell phone that does not require aim card or airtime to make calls and send messages.

There were allegations and video evidence that he took $500,000 bribe from Femi Otedola to remove Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited (Otedola’s company) from the list of oil companies allegedly involved in the fuel subsidy fraud in 2012. Lawan, who was arraigned on seven counts of bribery by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), was alleged to have collected $500,000 bribe from Otedola. The charge was later amended to three counts. Otedola, while giving evidence as the fifth prosecution witness, said the defendant had demanded $3 million and threatened to indict his oil company. According to the businessman, he reported the matter to the Department of State Services (DSS) and was given $500,000 in marked notes. He also said the DSS planted a camera in his house to catch Lawan red-handed.

The statement that was posted by a staunch supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari and APC Chieftain, Joe Igbokwe on his Facebook page said any local government council chairman that is found culpable of handing over funds to the state governor will give account at EFCC or Kirikiri maximum prison. " You people are just wasting your time, We have sent money directly to Local Government Account this week. And if you like, withdraw the money from that account and hand over to your Governor, you will give account of it properly at EFCC or Kirikri Maximum Prison. " President Buhari said. The statement came amidst the call for restructuring and devolution of power among the three tiers of government. An early morning downpour in Abuja on Tuesday caused the roof of the National Assembly building to leak water. The leaking roof also caused the water to splash to the lobby of NASS. Cleaners had a hectic time trying to scoop the water from the lobby in order to control it from flowing into the Chambers. However, this development did not hinder the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan from presiding over the plenary. Recall that the leadership of NASS in 2020 approved N37bn for the renovation of the edifice built about 27 years ago. The proposal sparked reactions from the public including Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).

 

Alhaji Bello Dankande, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara, has died at the age of 56. Alhaji Lawal Liman, the state APC caretaker committee chairman disclosed this when he spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gusau, the state capital, on Tuesday. Liman said the deceased died at a private hospital in Gusau after a brief illness on Tuesday. “On behalf of the entire APC family in the state, I extend our condolences to the APC leader in the state, Alhaji Abdul’aziz Yari and other party stakeholders over the loss. “I also pray to Allah Subhanallahu Wata’ala to grant him Aljannatul Firdausi and give his family fortitude to bear the loss,” he said. Dankande was the state’s former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. He was the APC candidate for Dec. 2020 Bakura State House of Assembly By-election and a former Chairman, Bakura local government council. He was survived by three wives, 20 children and many grandchildren.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has killed dozens of Islamic State West Africa Province terrorists in Lamboa, Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State on Sunday.   Multiple airstrikes by Alpha- Jets, L- 39, and MI- 35 helicopters targeted a well- known terrorist, Modu Sulum, and several others. Sulum, the ISWAP Logistics Commander, took part in the killing of Abubakar Shekau, the Boko Haram factional commander in May. He was responsible for the destruction of power transmission towers along the Maiduguri- Damaturu Highway at Malanari, as well as attacks on travellers in Auno and Jakana. In a convoy of eight gun trucks, the militants had invaded Lamboa in preparation for attacks on the Mainok axis. A yet-to-be-identified man was shot dead at the Water bus stop, along the University of Ibadan-Ojoo Road today June 21 shortly after he had made withdrawals from one of the Automated Teller Machines ATM in the area. According to eyewitnesses, the man was about to leave the ATM point when he was attacked and shot by the assailants. The man, who was shot in his private parts, died at an undisclosed hospital in Ojoo. The state police command is yet to react to the incident.
