During the attack, Department of State Services (DSS) operatives raided the Ibadan home of Yoruba Nation activist Chief Sunday Adeyemo alias Sunday Igboho and allegedly carted away numerous items. One of Sunday Igboho' s aides said that DSS operatives grabbed N3 million and numerous pieces of jewelry from the activist' s bedroom during the incident. The secret police also took away a closed- circuit television box during the raid on Thursday, preventing a repeat of their actions, he alleged. The DSS had previously admitted to being behind the raid on Igboho' s residence, alleging that the raid was carried out in response to intelligence reports that the Yoruba Nation activist was stockpiling dangerous weapons in his home.
