People suspected to be hoodlums on Monday night set ablaze the house of Seriki Fulani in Eggua, Yewa North local government area of Ogun State, Alhaji Adamu Oloru, killing one person and scores of cows. The attack was allegedly carried out angry youths who followed the Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly called Sunday Igboho, to the community. It will be recalled that Sunday Igboho, on Monday, visited the state with a promise to flush out killer-herders. The Seriki’s son, Suleiman Adamu, who disclosed this to newsmen in an interview on Tuesday, said one Alhaji Jiji was burnt to death, while his father’s settlement was razed down He added that over 40 cows were killed in the attacked.

The Presidency on Monday said no date has been fixed for the appointment of a new Inspector-General of Police. President Mohammadu Buhari has appointed the Academy Adjutant of the Nigeria Defence Academy  (NDA), Lt-Col Y.M. Dodo, as his new Aide-De-Camp (ADC). Unconfirmed eports indicate that Dodo will take over from Col. M.L. Abubakar who is said to be proceeding on a promotion course. On completion, Col Abubakar is expected  to be promoted to a new rank of Brig-Gen alongside his coursemates. The Aide-de-Camp (ADC) provides protection and is ready at all times to lay his life for the President. The ADC approaches every public function and other assignments both within and outside the country with the highest level of precision and seriousness they deserve.

In a statement issued by his spokesman, Isa Gusau, the governor commended the former service chiefs for their work, adding that Borno State cannot ignore their immense contributions to the restoration of peace in the North-east. Mr Zulum had also welcomed the new service chiefs and assured them of his administration’s readiness to work with them. “The outgoing service chiefs have been with us in the last six years, and during these eventful and challenging years, they immensely contributed to ongoing peacebuilding efforts through the fight against Boko Haram,” the governor sai
