Anxiety, as gunmen burn down Federal High Court in Ebonyi

In separate operations, the gunmen razed a section  of the Federal High Court in Abakaliki in the  early hours of yesterday, just as two soldiers and a civilian were shot and killed at a checkpoint in the state. Another set of gunmen also operated in Onueke Community of Ezza South Local Government area of Ebonyi State, shot sporadically and robbed their victims of their possessions. This set of  gunmen, Vanguard gathered, trailed a customer to a commercial bank where  they perpetrated the dastardly act.

Army silent on alleged killing of two personnel in Ebonyi

The Nigerian Army is yet to confirm the alleged shooting by unknown gunmen of two soldiers at a military checkpoint located at popular Timber Shade junction in Amasiri, Afikpo North local government area of Ebonyi. Meanwhile, a top security source, who confirmed the incident on Tuesday at Amasiri on condition of anonymity, said that the shooting occurred on Monday night around 9.pm. The source stated that the gunmen made away with the riffles of the two dead soldiers. Also, a source in the community, who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and pleaded not to be mentioned said the gunmen arrived at the checkpoint in a white bus and as the military men stopped them for a stop-and-search, they opened fire on them.

ROBBERY: GUNMEN SHOT IMO STATE COMMISSIONER.

Fresh facts emerged on Monday on how gunmen shot the Imo State Commissioner for Entrepreneurship and Skill Acquisition, Iyke Ume. The incident happened at Orji, on Owerri- Okigwe Road very close to the Orji Divisional Police Headquarters. When contacted, the special adviser to the governor on Inter-Party Affairs, Dominic Uzowuru, confirmed that the Commissioner was shot. He said, “I was not shot. The Commissioner was shot. My phone and that of the commissioners were snatched. We were coming from a service of the song of one of us, Austin Nnawuihe. He was dropping me when the robbers struck. I am fine to the glory of God.”

Nursing mother and 8 others kidnapped in Ogbomoso.

Tension grows steady as family of eight and a nursing mother were kidnapped in a hotel  at Ajaawe in ogbomoso. Unlike on the day chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Ebenezer Busuyi, who was kidnapped last week Thursday, regained his freedom after payment of a ransom. Confirming the story, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Adewale Osifeso, said it was true that some people were kidnapped but could not disclose the number of those abducted. The commissioner of police has now urge the community to work with the security personnel in fishing out the suspects by calling the police instantly they notice strange move around the locality.

Vanguard reliably gathered that the fatal crash was caused by brake failure, wrong overtaking, and over-speeding according to Information by the Kwara State Fire Service and the Federal Road Safety Corps. Head of Media and Publicity of Kwara state Fire Service, Hassan Adekunle said, “Men of the Kwara State Fire Service were summoned to a road accident by one FRSC officer called Azeez Olaolu. The accident occurred along Bode-saadu Jebba Expressway today. “The accident was a head-on collision that resulted in the fire outbreak which involved five heavy vehicles; four trailers filled with different variety of goods, and a petrol tanker.

Breaking: NBC suspends Channels TV for speaking with IPOB The National Broadcasting Commission, NBC has suspended Channels Television with a fine of N5 million for breaching the broadcast code. In a letter to the Managing Director of Channels Television signed by the Acting Director-General of the Commission, NBC, Prof. Armstrong Idachaba, the Commission referred to Channels 7 pm live broadcast programme of Sunday, 25th April 2021, in which it accused the TV station of allowing a leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB to make secessionist and inciting declarations on air without caution or reprimand by the station contrary to the broadcast code. It also accused the station of allowing the guest speaker to make derogatory, false and misleading statements about the Nigerian army, despite being proscribed by a court of law.

Eedris song| JAGAJAGA communicate on minister of state labours Keyamo attitude.

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has reacted to a new song by singer Eedris Abdulkareem titled Jagajaga Reloaded which called him out. Keyamo who took to  Twitter  revealed that the song is a poor attempt at blackmail. According to the Minister, Eedris Abdulkareem who is displaying a stance against the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), once begged to be part of the Buhari Campaign Organisation which he directed in 2018.
