The House of Representatives' Special Committee on Constitution Review has received a proposal to change Nigeria's name to the United African Republic. Adeleye Jokotoye , a tax consultant, submitted the proposal to the committee at the South West Zonal Public Hearing in Lagos on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. While presenting the proposal, he said Nigeria's current name was an imposition of its past colonial masters and should be changed.

Falz who wastes no time to air his thoughts about issues in the country chanced upon the warning tweet issued by Buhari to the many young people misbehaving in the country. Buhari cautioned such people to be aware of the destruction and the countless lives which were lost during the Nigerian civil war.

Twitter has deleted a tweet made by President Muhammadu Buhari threatening to deal with ‘people’ who didn’t learn from the Civil War. The President, on Tuesday evening, tweeted the following; “Many of those misbehaving today are too young to be aware of the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigerian Civil War. Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand,”. The tweet struck a nerve with a section of Nigerians who believe it was a subtle jibe at the Igbo Tribe. Many condemned the tone of the message which referenced the 1967 civil war.
