waterways no longer safe for business,Ondo fishermen cry to govt

Fishermen in Ondo state have solicited for the support of the state government in areas of safety and infrastructural development in the coastal communities, saying the waterways are no longer safer for businesses, while users of the waterways are now at high risk. The fishermen under the auspices of Fishermen association of Nigeria, lamented the losses they are incurring as a result of the incessant boat mishap on the waterways caused by seaweed or hyacinth. The National Chairman of the fishermen, Orioye Gbayisemore, said the development has affected their businesses and source livelihood without any compensation from the state government.

Shehu Sani asks Nigerians to pray before collecting 8k palliative.

A former Kaduna State Senator and human rights activist, Shehu Sani,has warned Nigerians against collecting the N8,000 palliative from President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Tinubu recently got approval for the N500 billion he sought from the National Assembly as palliative for 12 million households worst affected by the removal of fuel subsidy.  According to a letter to the House of Representatives, the president said 12 million families would get N8,000 over a period of six months to ameliorate the hardships faced as a result of the subsidy removal. ALSO READ: Sowore rubbishes Tinubu’s subsidy palliative scheme  Reacting to the development, Shehu Sani urged Nigerians to pray hard before collecting the N8,000 proposed by the Tinubu-led administration.
