Buhari SHOOTS HIMSELF In The Foot As He Says Military Appointments Are Based On Seniority & Merit, See Why

President Buhari has made a huge gaffe when answering a question concerning why Southerners were not enjoying the same military appointments like the Northerners during his Arise TV interview.

The President stated that he only makes strategic military appointments on a basis of seniority and deservedness. But from the recent appointment of Farouk Yahaya as the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), it is not actually how the President said it to be.

You would recall that barely 10 days after the death of Ibrahim Attahiru in a Kaduna Plane crash who was the then Chief of Army Staff, Pres Muhammadu Buhari appointed Farouk Yahaya as his successor, many were shocked at the quick appointment especially as Mr. President did not attend the Burial of the Late Chief of Army Staff. Many also wondered why the President continued to appoint only Northerners in strategic Military positions and questioning if no Southerner is qualified for such position.

The President tried to clarify that he only appointed on a basis of seniority and also military personnels who deserved it when he tried to answer the question put to him. But in giving those answers the President has Unknowingly shot himself in the foot because the appointment of Farouk Yahaya did not follow the basis Mr. President claims to use. There were other military officers who were senior to Farouk Yahaya who will now have to be retired due to Farouk Yahaya' s appointment as Chief of Army Staff. Also by Mr. President Appointing Farouk Yahaya as Chief of Army Staff, he is implying that the among the Senior Military officers no one deserved to be appointed as Chief of Army Staff.
